 Since its inception, senior EKKA  instructors  including 9th Dan Black belts Mick Blackwell and Billy Brennan have continued to develop Karate in the East of England. From early beginnings in the 1970’s the EKKA has become one of the leading competitive Martial Arts groups in the country. With this reputation and with its thousands of members and champions at all levels such as European Champion Ryan Jay, the EKKA  is now recognised as one of the most successful and highly regarded martial arts organisations in the UK.

Blackwell Academy Woodbridge
Affiliated with the EKKA and the UK Defence Krav Maga Association, Blackwell Academy in Woodbridge offers professional martial arts training by friendly and experienced, licensed instructors. We teach three main disciplines in Woodbridge, these being Karate, Krav Maga and Kickboxing.

Our classes are designed for a range of abilities and age, with dedicated children's karate classes and separate self defence training. Our club is friendly and always welcomes new members, with our more senior students always willing to encourage novices.

Established in July 1996 it has quickly become the number one martial arts club in East Anglia and is now building upon it's fantastic achievements by opening new clubs in Colchester and East Bergholt.
